Every motivated team has a Victor Moses, someone that keeps the team motivated. This week on #TheInspiredTeam, we’ll be looking at what keeps a team motivated.
Isaac Newton said “If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulder of giants”
This signifies that every successful team has a motivating giant that provides effective leadership.
In a football team for instance, on the field of play, the captain provides that leadership as a team member. From a distance, the coach or manager also provides motivation.
Every inspired team has a selfless leader that inspires each team member to perform optimally.
On Friday, Nigeria defeated Cameroon and the team was motivated, goals kept on pouring in because the captain kept the team motivated. John Obi Mikel who is the current captain of the team was always there to provide passes for the others to play well, he also got a pass and did justice to it. In Yesterday’s match, we also had Victor Moses show is stuff as Nigeria drew with Cameroon.
All successful teams have things that distinguish them. They include the following:
1. A Selfless leader: This is someone who also has his own goals and aspirations but still has the interest of the team at heart and puts it first. Such a leader would always inspire followership.
2. A Master Planner: This is not the leader but an equally selfless member of the team that strategises for the team. He is innovative and thinks outside the box. Such a person is loyal to the leader and is never short of ideas.
3. The Goal-setter: This person is one that has the success of the team at heart. He yearns for results. When the master planner brings about a new idea, he is already on the field making it a reality.
4. The Motivator: This is another loyal fellow. He is always inspiring people to perform optimally. There’s no impossibility in his world. All ideas are possible to him.
All these are different categories of people in a successful team. Which are you?
