It’s a great day… raining here in Lagos with schools resuming and traffic increasing. But hey, it’s a blessed day to achieve something great.
At the beginning of this year, we all had goals, new year resolutions and all the new things we wanted to do and some we wanted to give up.
Everyday is an opportunity to start. Depending on what your goal is, time is a factor in it’s achievement. For some, if action is taken now, it would only take a week, for others two. Some have a month or two as well while there are yet others who have a year or two or maybe even seven.
Many years ago, in one of my reading escapades, I read about a Consultant who was training some people and someone asked him a question: “how long does it take to get to the top of my career”.
After a little thought he said: “7 years!”
The person that asked the question was a little discouraged thinking that seven years was too long.
The Consultant then said, “whether you progress in your career or not, the seven years would pass anyway!”
This is a lesson for all of us not to look at how long it would take for our goals to be achieved but to be committed to the process of achieving it.
Over the weekend, I attended a training organised by Daystar Business Forum which is a training for business men and women. One of the facilitators, Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie, the Group Managing Director of Rain Oil Limited shared his startup story.
He said he started rain oil with N300,000 in the early ’90s and has become a global brand in the oil and gas sector today as a result of due diligence in the pursuit of his dream.
This is a pointer to someone reading this magazine now, that with due diligence in the pursuit of your dreams, you would achieve.
To our success!
I’m everly yours,
