Every now and then we interview amazing individuals who are achieving great things in their various fields.
Today, we have another amazing individual who many may not know even though the things he does are in the limelight. He prefers to be called ‘the guy behind the scene’ and that’s exactly what he is.
Our #TheInspiredDream for today is Aigbogun Oluwatobi Emmanuel, a New Media Specialist, Executive Head- Business Development with an Oil Servicing Company in Nigeria , Girl Child Advocate, Global Citizen and recently appointed Global Youth Ambassador for Education.
Toby Aigbogun, as I would prefer to call him is a goal-getter and team player of international repute. He believes in the beauty of dreams.
He believes Nigeria is a great country where dreams can be achieved. He says, “It has to do with your mindset and determination to succeed. If you don’t have the right mindset and determination, you can travel out of Nigeria and still won’t Live Your Dream.”
He is a young man who attributes what he has achieved to God’s help and the counsel of those that have mentored him.
He says: “Also I think my passion for these things is just what I need to do all I do and commit myself to them. I’m a Guy that prefers to Work from behind and don’t get seen. I prefer to be in the “kitchen” cooking up strategies than be seen. It gives me the Freedom to do what I want to do ????????.”
How did it all start for him?
“The passion started while I was still in secondary school but was fully activated when I got into University. I organized Summits and conferences and I believed my mentors then (Toyosi Ogunsiji – Nee Akerele and Emilia Asim Ita) were available to motivate me and gave me the needed advise and support I needed back then. Over the years, I have interacted and met amazing people like Steve Harris, Fela Durotoye, Dayo Israel, Steve Harris, Bankole Williams, Ahmad Alhendawi – ( Former UN YOUTH ENVOY) Jayathma Wickramanayake ( Current UN YOUTH ENVOY), Jamira Burley ( Deputy Director – Millennial, Hillary Clinton Campaign) who have helped mentor and shown me the right path to take. In life you need the right people around you to help shape and mould you. And not forgetting the role of my Amazing Family for their support and Prayers.”
Toby also has a great passion for quality education. He recently got noticed based on his role at the Just concluded Global Partnership for Education Financing Conference that was held in Senegal where the President of France and Senegal were joint hosts with Rihanna. They saw his passion for Education and felt he is in a strong position to Preach the message of Quality Education.
His role as Global Youth Ambassador for Education is to help propagate the message of Quality Education and using Various platforms to advocate for Quality Education.
Toby believes that prayer is KEY and also advises young people to get a Good mentor that can advise them and tell them what to do regarding making the right decisions per time.
He says, “When I had to make a decision on what to study in the University. I prayed and also contacted one of my Mentors (Dayo Israel) who advised and gave me directions. Even when I applied for Political Science but later switched to History and International Studies which I finally graduated with because I had passion for International Development, the counsel was available.
Oluwatobi Aigbogun wants the world to remember him as the Guy that Fought for Gender Equality; Messenger of Quality and #theguybehindthescene.
That’s it!
It’s been a pleasure interviewing Aigbogun Oluwatobi Emmanuel as our #TheInspiredDream for this episode.
I remain yours truly,
