Do you love food? What of Nigerian Cooked Soups?
I do, and I’m pretty sure you do too. In this episode of #TheInspiredDream, we have someone that loves food and actually cooks for a living. Lets meet her:
“I am Oreoluwa Roberts, The Soup-Cook of PSkitchen. A Soup & Sauce business aimed at feeding hungry families, the working-class & campus students in Lagos.”
“I & my team of three (3) make and deliver clean, delicious, healthy Nigerian soups & stews to the doorstep of Lagosians at an affordable price.”
“I’m also a final year student of Zoology at the prestigious university of Lagos.”
How did Oreoluwa get to become The Soup Cook that she is? Hear her:
“I grew up with 2 younger brothers and my mum often had the kitchen to herself, she made me start cooking at age 9 because she didn’t like the idea of me watching TV while she was cooking, she’s Edo and Edo women don’t take rubbish.”
“She often buttressed the fact that I had to cook, that I was born a woman and a woman should cook & cook well.”
Well, it will interest you to know that this is actually my second interview with someone in the food business. In case you missed the first with Oyindamola Adekunle, the CEO of Oyinade’s Kitchen, you can read it here.
Every time I interview someone I want to know what makes them thick, what makes them unique and different from others in their niche. So I asked the Soup Cook. She answered brilliantly as expected:
“Unlike ‘Mama Put’ (local food sellers) & other catering businesses and restaurants which serve meals cooked for the public and who have been around for longer, the difference between them and PSK (PS Kitchen) is that a variety of soups and sauces are available (as much as 21 different Nigerian Soups/Sauces) and comes to the eater at his/her convenience and is made just the way they want it when they order. PSkitchen does Convenient Customer Preference!
We solve the problem of Food being available to the eater, made to his/her own taste.”
Also, considering the fact that Oreoluwa is still a student, though she is in her final year, she definitely has to manage her time well to do well in school and in her business, how does she do this?
“Everything in life requires Balance and Prioritization, set out time for both & it’s very balanced.” She noted.
Also, just in case you are wondering what PSkitchen means, it’s Pretty Sumptuous I.e ‘very very sumptuous’. PSkitchen makes as much as 25 Nigerian Cooked Soups from different tribes in Nigeria. That’s amazing, isn’t it? Check out your best soups below:
Fisherman soup, Bene seed, Black soup, Egusi, Afang, Edikaikong, Owo soup, Banga & a couple of other rich Nigerians soups & sauces.
Just in case you are already salivating, and feel like having some Nigerian Cooked Soups, they are just a call away, they also do deliveries.
