What’s your dream? We all either have or have had a dream at some point or the other, mostly during our childhood. For many, life has happened to them and they either don’t believe again or have just seized to pursue their dreams for one reason or the other.
As for me, I have a dream and I also strongly believe in the beauty and actualization of dreams.
What’s a dream? The dictionary defines a dream as ‘a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal’. I see dreams as yearnings in the heart of an individual which has been planted at one point or the other in the individual’s life which would just not go away. From time to time that yearning is triggered to be fulfilled, but for most people fear makes them cringe and they end up not making a move towards the actualization of that desire or dream.
Right from my childhood, I have always seen myself inspiring people through speaking and writing all over the world. It’s gradually coming to pass, I work at it every day, and I pray to God to make it happen too, because I know I can’t take God out of the picture because He gave me the dream in the first place. So today, my question for you is, what’s your dream? What’s that yearning inside of you that is crying out to be fulfilled? For many, life has happened and they have abandoned their dream, but I’m here to help you reactivate that dream today.
There are a few people who have achieved their dreams against all odds, despite their age restrictions. Grandma Moses is one of such woman. Her real name is Anna Mary Robertson Moses, she was an American Folk Artist, She began painting at the age of 78 and painted for the rest of her life till she died at 101. She wasn’t a roadside painter, she was celebrated during her lifetime, even Life magazine featured her in its September 19th, 1960 cover.
She’s not alone, in the recently famous movie, Black Panther, there was a phenomenal actress who is 92 years old. Her name is Dorothy Steel. She began acting at the age of 88. In Black Panther, she acted as one of the leaders of Wakanda. Can you imagine that? I challenge you today to reactivate your dreams.
Just before you think that it is only old people that should fulfill their dreams, let me share stories of young people too. Have you heard of Mr Cory? Well, let me tell you about him. He started his business when he was just 6 years old with the help of his mother of course! Today, he has worked with many big brands, you can read his story here.
Mr Cory is not alone, Robert Nay is another young inspiration. He founded Nay Games. His game called “Bubble Ball” received 1 million downloads in only two weeks of its release in 2010 and he was only 14 years old at the time.
There are also a number of other young and old people who have, against all odds achieved their dreams. Names like Mark Zuckerberg of the Facebook Empire, Brian Chesky, Nathan Blecharczyk, and Joe Gebbia of Airbnb, Evan Spiegel of the Snapchat Fame and a host of others. The good thing about all this is that you can be the next big thing to happen to the world. Are you ready to fulfill your dreams?
