It was a double honor for the management, staff, and friends of Bridge Afrique Magazine, BAM, at the 2019 Pride of Africa, Asia-Pacific Awards.
The awards are part of the initiatives of a China-based non-profit organization known as Appreciate Africa Network. The organization was set up by Dr. Samantha Sibanda in 2013 to celebrate the cultural and socio-economic contributions of outstanding Africans in the Diaspora (starting with the Asia Pacific region); this year’s awards ceremony was held at the prestigious Grand Concordia Hotel, Beijing China on the 15th of June.
The Publisher/ CEO of BAM, Mr. Michael.O. Kolawole, who was away in Israel on a pilgrimage at the time, was saluted in the award of creativity and enterprise category. In the course of the glamorous event, another feather came the way of the BAM Family as BAM itself got applauded for outstanding achievement in Media.
Mr Michael Kolawole, upon his return to China expressed gratitude on behalf of the entire BAM team for the recognition, saying they would only spur the magazine to keep on being the authoritative bridge between Africa and the world. He revealed that the ongoing rebranding and positioning of BAM will further make it the best resource for individuals and organizations, all over the world who wish to take advantage of the immense opportunities available in China as well as the entire African continent. He cited the benefits that have increased for Africa’s leading airline, Ethiopian Airlines, since it commenced a partnership with BAM and even adopting it, as its official in-flight magazine on its China to Africa routes. With a global circulation and a coordinated team of correspondents and offices across Africa, Asia, and Europe, Mr Kolawole remarked that the best investment any credible organization can make is to showcase its capabilities via the global exposure BAM uniquely offers, professionally and economically.
